Three Things Thursday – Random Edition

Just be warned that there is no cohesiveness to this post.  At all.

You know you have the best teammates in the world when you tell them that you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and that turns into a competition of who can make the best face.  Life has been stressful lately.  Being surrounded by incredible people helps.

Funny team

We have some birds that build a nest at the back of our house every year.  I have seen eggs in the nest before, but never the actual babies…..until this year!  We’ve got lots of little chickies!

I’m moving out of my comfort zone and joining an early Friday morning swim class for triathletes.  This put me out of my comfort zone in two ways.  First, I hate morning.   I like morning workouts more as time going on, but these workouts start at 5:45 am and are a 40 minute drive for me.  Someone just start a coffee IV, okay?  Second, I get super nervous swimming around other people.  My form isn’t terrible, but it’s still a work in progress.  And I’m not fast by any means.  Basically, I still kind of feel like a fraud in the pool.  It’s a work in progress though and this is one more step trying to improve on that.  Here’s to pushing past my comfort zone!

Happy Thursday!

  1. Oh my goodness, look at those little baby birds! My husband would freak out – he is somewhat of a bird nerd. The first thing he did when we moved into our new house was put out bird feeders that we could see from the living room couch and fill them with food. We have quite the entertainment each day.

I would feel the same way about swimming during the early morning hours with a group of people who know what they are doing. I hear you learn a lot swimming with others – so enjoy. Be sure to let me know how it goes.

  2. I think you are going to be so happy you joined the class – like you said you form is a work in progress. Sounds like a great place to improve 🙂 I just posted “random abandon” – must be the week for being random!

  3. Good luck with the swim class! It’s so hard to push yourself outside of that comfort zone (or it is for me), but the rewards usually make it worth it. Hope that it goes/went well and would love to hear about it!
