Napa is my Happy Place

First off, I can not thank everyone for all of the comments on the last post.  I was nervous to post it and you guys let me know I made the right decision.  You only grow outside of your comfort zone, right?  In that same breath, the entirety of the below is a fluffy and substance-less post.  Everyone needs that sometimes.  But it has pretty pictures!

I spent the weekend in Napa with a couple of my good friends.  We called it a “Bachelorette” party, but mainly used it as an excuse to have a girls weekend in Napa.  A perfect way to end a good year of training!  (Minus that one 20K trail race that I kind of forgot about which is coming up in two week….)

And since a picture is worth a thousand words….

So much delicious wine!

It was at this point that Fella realized he made a grave error in not coming/not being invited.

I seriously loved that this vineyard had Jenga. Because Jenga would certainly be the easiest game to play while drinking…?

The morning was rainy, but we lucked out with gorgeous weather at Mumm’s Vineyard.

One word: YUM.

My partners in crime. And proof that I can wear real clothing that doesn’t have spandex!  My hair is even down!

By the fourth winery during our tour, we began to look slightly less composed. But you don’t need to see that, so here is a fantastic saying instead. Side note, highly recommend Platypus Tours. Well organized and knowledgeable guides.

Overall, it was a great trip and exactly what I needed.  A fresh breathe.  Keep an eye out later this week for an awesome post looking ahead.  There are big things planned for next year!

Happy Monday!

Napa is my Happy Place — 9 Comments

  1. I am not a wine kind of girl, but I think Napa would be so fun. Beautiful and tons of good food – I could eat that steak. Glad you had such a good getaway…you definitely deserved it!!

  2. I love, love, LOVE that last picture. That made me snort laugh.

Looks like a fabulous trip. Hubs and I drove down from Seattle to San Fran on our honeymoon and didn’t make it to Napa. Someday…

  3. I have never been to Napa but it is high on my bucket list. I’ve done a lot of wine tasting in Oregon, Walla Walla, and Southern California, but never Napa. Why? I don’t know. I love the giant Jenga at the winery. I would definitely join in on the fun. Where did you stay?
