Four Fthings Friday

…Because it’s my blog and I can spell things any way that I want to…

 1.  Less than 48 hours.  Eff.  To say that I am freaking out would be a minor understatement.  Sick to my stomach with nerves would be closer to the truth.

After this weekend, you won’t have to see this picture again.

2.  I’ve been planning out a race strategy with my coach.  She wasn’t a big fan of my “Just don’t die” race strategy and actually wanted things like attainable goals.  Weird.  Right now the A plan is:

1.2 Mile Swim – 45:00 min (2:08/100yd)

56 Mile Bike – 3:30 (16 mph)

13.1 Mile Run – 3:00 (13:44/mile)

Total: 7:15

It’s kind of terrifying to throw these out here.  I have no idea if I can hit these or not.  I keep going back and forth on which part terrifies me most.  Currently it’s the swim.  I’m convinced that I’m going to drown or miss the cutoff.  I’m not sure which one would be worse.

The above will give me approximately a 7:15 finish.  I would be ecstatic about a 7:15 finish.  The time cutoff for the course is 8:30 though and as long as I cross the finish line, I am calling it a win.  Heck, part of me is counting it as a win that I am getting to the start line healthy and ready to race.  Can someone give me a Xanax now?  Please?

If anyone wants to follow along, Fella will be posting updates on Facebook. You’re welcome to follow along!

3.  Stay Away from the Tricks and Treats is going awesome!  I’m really loving the group of girls that we have and I know that it’s really helping to keep me accountable.  We’re the group needed for when you need someone to virtually smack that cookie out of your hand.  Seriously.

Virtual Slap

Super love these girls thus far. LOVE!

4.  Since we all know I’m the biggest softie in the entire world (actually, Fella is a bigger softie than me), meet Pita/Oscar.  He’s our newest foster and was saved from euthanasia with about ten minutes to spare.  So far he’s incredibly sweet, good with dogs and kids, and very hungry all the time.  Bringing a four month old puppy home a few days before your biggest race of the year is always a good idea, right?  I still can’t believe how horrible people are sometimes.  There is no reason that this pup deserved to be put down. None.

Not the greatest picture, but you try to get a four month old pup to sit still on his first night in a cozy home!

Hopefully next time I post, I will be a Half Ironman!

Happy Friday!

I wanna say that I wish my hubby was as big a softie as me, but it’s probably a good thing he’s not. Somebody has to keep me in check. lol

I’m getting SO EXCITED about coming to St. Louis!!!!!!
