Catching Up

Things that you’ve missed because I’m a bum:

– First and foremost, Fella killed his first 5K!  I am so stinking proud of him and can’t wait to con him into another one!  He’s really doing good on his quest for a healthier life and I could not be more proud of him.  It fills me with warm fuzzies.

He would kill me if he knew I posted this!

He would kill me if he knew I posted this! And yay for dog friendly races!

– Frontier is literally the worst airline that I have ever flown.  I will never, ever fly them again.  Ever.  Thank goodness I have an awesome cousin in Denver that made my being stranded a delight!

This is the normal reaction to a delayed flight and missed connection, right?

– Hung out in San Diego for a week which is the reason for the lack of posting.  Training conference all day + working during the evenings + a little bit of fun = no time for blogging.  I did have an awesome time overall though and thought that San Diego was an awesome city.  Any good races there?

This is how I look whenever I run. Yup.

Jumping OB

No jumping? Watch this!  And yes, the people we asked to take our picture were laughing at us.

– While in San Diego, we also decided to indulge in some awesome food.  All food should be the size of your head and twice the size of your beer, right?

Beer and Burger

I think the proper caption here is “OM NOM NOM NOM”

Bacon flapjack 2

Hands down the best flapjack that I have ever eaten. You may not be able to see it, but there are WHOLE STRIPS OF BACON IN THAT PANCAKE.

Now on to training week 13 in prep for Grandma’s Marathon which is NEXT FREAKING MONTH!

Now to wipe the drool off my chin…

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Oh my goodness! That hamburger!
Frontier is tempting me with their return flight from Nashville…over $100 less than Southwest. BUT…I’d have to pay for my carry on, which lowers that savings. I would go through Denver, could get stranded like you, and that freaking airport is so far away from civilization. Gah! I wish SW would just match their prices and put me out of my misery.

    • I think taking them on a direct flight may be safe, but using them with a connection and especially a tight connection would be dangerous. There were LITERALLY 50 people in line behind me at the customer service desk trying to figure out flights because of missed connections due to delayed flights (maintenance, not weather related). Not worth the potential hassle in my head. Now if only Southwest would drop their prices! They used to have such better sales!

  2. Oh wow that food looks so good! And that beer! I’ve never flown Frontier but have heard bad stuff about them. Sorry about that but looks like your trip more than made up for the bad flight! San Diego is hands down the prettiest city I’ve ever been to! I’d love to go back one day!

  3. Wow, being stranded SUCKS! At least you had family to keep you company.

Love, love love the food pictures. I don’t even like burgers and I’m drooling over that one!

I would love to run in San Diego. My sister has a super close friend who lives there. I could be tempted…
