Life’s Little Victories

I meant to post this on Monday, but I decided to promptly get sick after returning from DC.  On the plus side, DC was epic and a fantastic trip.  And I know you are all wondering if I was actually able to get my runs in and the answer is…..yes!

Licoln Monumnet on Run

Look, it’s the Lincoln Monument!

Of course I had to take a picture mid run.  It’s kind of like the tree falling in the forest….if a blogger runs, but doesn’t Instagram it, did it actually happen?  It has been a long time dream of mine to be able to take a nice long run around the mall to see all of the monuments.  Not going to lie, this run kind of made my weekend.  It was a blast and I was really proud of myself for getting out of bed and getting moving.

Lots of other merriment was had, in no particular order:

Tricia and Tiina White House

My good friend Patricia and I in front of the White House. We got yelled at after this by a security person. Apparently when they say keep out of certain area, they mean it!

Shrinking monument

Tricia loves the shrinking something pictures, so I obliged. This was not an easy task in a moving paddle boat. Also, paddle boating is not easy on tired legs.

Dino Roar

The Natural History Museum is still as awesome as I remember it. Dino says ROAR!

FF collage

Dinner at Founding Farmers on my last night there. Words cannot express the deliciousness that happened during that meal. The bacon appetizer tasted like heaven wrapped in puppies.

On the other hand, there is no place like home.  Someone was very happy to have mama home after a long weekend away…

Weird Koda

Grrr….mean pittbull!

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Oh wow, it’s probably been over 25 years since I’ve been to DC (dating myself here – ha!). I love that city and all the cool things to do there. Nice job getting in those runs with all you had going on – you are relentless! 🙂

Miss you!! Come visit me in CO!!!!

    • I’ve been trying to get out there but my plans keep falling through! As soon as I have one booked, you’ll be one of the first to know!!
